Job description:
ITR Hockey is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our team as a Hockey Glove Technician.
This role centers on learning and executing the specialized craft of repalming hockey gloves. You will be trained in our techniques and processes, with the opportunity to develop a unique and valuable skill set within the hockey industry.
While the primary focus is technical work, there will also be opportunities to contribute to marketing, operational and growth-related tasks as the business expands.
Responsibilities
- Learn and perform hockey glove repalming and repair techniques
- Carefully remove, replace, and reconstruct glove palms to high quality standards
- Inspect incoming gloves and assess repair needs
- Maintain consistent craftsmanship and attention to detail across all work
- Assist with material preparation, cutting, and assembly
- Ensure all finished products meet company quality expectations
- Disassemble, inspect, and repair hockey gloves using a variety of hand tools and power tools to restore or improve functionality.
- Customize gloves by sewing, padding replacement, or reinforcing areas based on specific player needs or wear patterns.
- Follow safety protocols when handling tools and equipment to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with order tracking and organization
- Help maintain a clean, efficient workspace
- Contribute ideas to improve workflow and efficiency
- Strong interest in hockey and hockey equipment
- Willingness to learn a hands-on, detail-oriented skill
- High level of attention to detail and patience
- Reliable, self-motivated, and coachable
- Proficiency with hand tools such as scissors, needles, screwdrivers, pliers, and sewing machines
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure precise repairs and high-quality finishes on all glove modifications
- Experience with sewing, stitching, or equipment repair is a plus but not necessary
- Training in a specialized and in-demand hockey equipment skill
- Hands-on experience in a niche area of the hockey industry
